Chamber Divisions

The Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce is comprised of more than 40 employees in nine departments dedicated in developing a thriving economy and enhancing the Charleston region's quality of life.

Executive Department/Organization Development 
The Executive Department consists of the president and CEO. The Organization Development Division supports the Executive Department, manages human resources (including group insurance), customer service and maintains the building and information technology needs. This division handles the day-to-day internal operations and provides the staff with the tools they need to effectively do their jobs.

Business Development
The Business Development Division assists all businesses of our region by providing services and resources, including connecting them to the right agencies or organizations for problem solving. This division not only helps existing businesses, but also provides services to businesses contemplating relocating or expanding to the Charleston region.

Center for Business Research
The Center for Business Research (CBR) serves as the center for the compilation, interpretation and distribution of business and economic data for the three-county Charleston metropolitan area. This includes custom research for the Chamber's internal divisions, the Charleston Area Convention & Visitors Bureau and the Charleston Regional Development Alliance. Communications & Marketing
The Communications & Marketing Division works to effectively communicate the initiatives, positions, programs and accomplishments of the Charleston Metro Chamber to its members, the media and the greater Charleston community.

The Education Foundation
The Education Foundation is an initiative of the Chamber and its own 501(c3) non profit. Since 1995, The Education Foundation has worked to build the coalitions, mobilize the resources and advocate the changes necessary in our community to prepare all students for the careers of the future. The Foundation serves as an intermediary organization between the business and education communities and has developed programs and initiatives that continue to impact the way students learn and the way educators teach.  For more information visit www.edfound.net.

Finance
The Finance Department compiles and records financial data in order to provide the information necessary for effective management of the Chamber's financial resources.

Innovation
The Innovation Division facilitates the growth of knowledge businesses in the Charleston region. This is accomplished by leading initiatives, providing programs and connecting needs with resources to create a thriving business environment for entrepreneurs and established businesses is this industry. This division also provides innovative resources to maintain continuity of operations for all business sectors in the area and explore innovative Chamber services for all members and the community.

Resource Development
The Membership Development Division provides the resources for Chamber programs and activities by recruiting new members and increasing membership investment. The division also works to provide direct and immediate benefits to Chamber members through the Business Advantage program, the Ambassadors Club and the Member-to-Member Discount program.

Member Programs
The Member Programs Division provides immediate opportunities for membership involvement through products, services, networking events, etc.

Public Policy
The Public Policy Division works to maintain an active and positive dialogue and to influence pro-business changes with community leaders and public officials on the local, state and federal levels. Areas of focus include state and federal legislation, military relations, military base retention and expansion, transportation and other issues impacting the business climate in the Charleston region.

Regional Advancement
The Regional Advancement division works to encourage ways for individuals and organizations in the Charleston metro area (Berkeley, Charleston and Dorchester Counties) to communicate and collaborate effectively in order to plan, implement and evaluate priorities of common interest that will advance the quality of life and economic development for the benefit of all citizens living, working and visiting the region. The Regional Advancement Division, through the Center for Business Research, also collects, analyzes and distributes demographic, business and economic information on the Charleston region to help people make better business decisions.
